Unfair Punishments! |
| This writing prompts requires students to relate to the unfair punishments issued to the American colonists after the Boston Tea Party by detailing the most unfair punishment they've ever experienced, and the reasons why they were punished. |
Use this Activity: |
| Explain/Discuss - Have students brainstorm times in their lives in which they've been punished for doing something they shouldn't have. Now, in the spirit of what the Colonists thought of the Intolerable Acts, ask them to think even harder of a time when the punishment they received didn't "fit the crime." Explain to students that they have a cathartic opportunity to write about that grievance. If for some reason students can't think of such a time, ask them to detail a character from a book, movie, video game, or sports that received an unfair punishment. |
